Brightline is the first time since the early 1970's when a privately run and financed company has entered the Intercity High Speed Rail Passenger business. If successful, Brightline could swing open the door to High Speed Intercity Rail Passenger field making private financing of these systems much more readily available. It's an interesting concept because they are using value capture in part around their rail stations by developing the rail stations as centers of commerce surrounded by residential and commercial developments owned by the railroad, so in part a portion of their revenues are going to be value captured from the development in and around the rail stations. Operation of the system starts on a limited basis this year between Miami and West Palm Beach.........with expansion to Orlando's Airport in 2018. Then potentially the rail system has tentative plans to extend to Tampa and then Jacksonville, FL. All is going to be based on how they do financially and if they turn a profit.
