Cyber warfare doesn't seem to get the attention it deserves in the media or in governments around the world IMO. While kinetic shots have not been fired, this is a weapon with devastating capabilities. My question is when will this be treated as something more than an inconvenience. Does some group or lone actor need to shut down utilities in a major city resulting in deaths of innocents before there will be policies and plans emplaced to respond?

These should be considered terrorist acts.

LTC (Join to see) Sir, this field is receiving a decent amount of funding and attention. Entire commands have been developed within each service, as well as the joint command, CYBERCOM. The threats are weighed and valued. The Commandant stopped in on a warrior's night for MARFORCYBER the last time I was in Quantico. I concur with your threat assessment, but I would argue the military is pretty savvy in the cyber domain.

MGySgt (Join to see) - I have a good understanding on some of the services capabilities in the Cyber realm, and it could be that we (DoD) is doing more than is being reported (in English speaking publications).

LTC (Join to see) - A lot of their actions wouldn't be reportable as it isn't for a public forum. The same could be said for most military actions, operations, and exercises.
