Thanks to ignorant freebies, forests are mismanaged, leading to massive fires. Bring in some German forest managers, teach the right way to do this and throw all the protesters into the Pacific ocean

Well put, I have to agree. I agree that protesting the clearing of tinder and thinning of the trees is the wrong thing to protest. Environmental groups do not have a clue at times. I am an environmentalist and a Hunter. I know the tinder has to be cleared not just for fire prevention, but for new growth. They may never learn what to protest and what not to.

can't get into the story but looking at the picture, the lineman is working on a 120/240 service line. I don't know what's going on in Calf elect industry but added poles to shorten the spans along with spacers between the conducters would take most of the bounce out of the line in high winds

I did not see that, great call out. So, it begs the question, why have they not made that correction?

I'm guessing it's money but if the lines are in real remote locations and on the tops of mountains, it would be as pricey as building a new line. 30 years ago when I was in the trade, 1 mile ,single pole sub transmission cost over $100000 a mile, and that was fairly flat ground. I feel for PG&E customers and the pain in the butt of not having elect .
