To develop this ranking, WalletHub looked at the 150 most populous cities across the U.S., measuring 16 metrics falling under the headings “job market” and “socioeconomic environment” for each. With regard to the job market, WalletHub considered factories including job opportunities, employment growth, and monthly median starting salary, while factors like median annual income, time spent working and commuting, and housing affordability are all among considerations that determine a city’s socioeconomic environment.
