A big applause for this bill.. A. Long time coming ! It’s good Vet’s go forward to increase education.. I seen some that came in with the. Intellect of a wet spaghetti noodle.. Their trying to improve is fine.. but when even they know they’d be lucky to pass the romper room EoC exam and studying for it..(cruel.. I suppose so, I had a Airman that I took under my wing because I thought he had some kind of potential(what I did like was he tried to do what was right when it came to following the rules.. when a sign said you didn’t do s’thing because it was NOT Authorized . Some would skirt it.. just a little bit.. “ well AMN S____ said if we checked it out and left we’d be ok!” “ The paper on that board said to go there was Not Authorized ! It’s like the camel sticking it’s snout under the tent flap... then ya want to see more.. They already knew it was a scam set-up, that’s why the sign.. AMN ! Mostly the Amn was good about it.. He kinda followed me around.. in some ways good .. others bad because I couldn’t go and have some fun and not be a minder.. (elbow room).. did a lot of repetitious teaching .. I wanted to get him far enough so he could fend for himself.. They finally took and separated for inability to adapt.. only because he couldn’t retain .. they even put him in a continued Ed. Class at base education..
I kinda missed being his mentor because it gave me a good purpose for being there... Sure after he was gone J was able to slow some and not rush to try and keep up.. I kept up but it was close going s’time because of keeping tabs on my “adopted little bro”. I wondered s’time ..
If guys weren’t just stringing me.. (“Hey A1C Herrst do we hold the knife like this or this way?”). So I played along a little bit.. especially when that TSGT. Was watching: .. I’d go over and show the to turn the celery or carrot on it’s side and cut at angle(on-the-bias / ).. and go back and work with my trainee). I got a note one morn’g that happened to be an off-Duty
day. . So I got ready and put a uniform on and went over to the Airman’s Dining Facility. I grabbed the note and took it with me..). I asked what they needed and they informed me I would be given a in-section training position as a mentor. They said they liked the way I worked with
My fellow Airmen.. even the ones that tried to “string me along”.. My APR.. (what it was called then ). Would reflect that .. They said they had a minor sitrep which was my OJT time(even though CDCs [Career Dev. Crse] is done, the OJT{apprentice time} is a continuous sitrep. But they could work around that and I could use it to teach new /and / fellow Airmen.
Back to this sitrep; I seen some that picked up on “silly paper”. Only because they’d get $$ money and it’d be a piece of paper showing they were a semi-master basket weaver in study of Pygmy basket weaving.. I s’pose they could make and sell baskets .. I wonder if they had chose to learn to engineer widgets.. wouldn’t that of been better? Oh that’s right they’d have to learn to think ‘more’. .. of course with all the widget makers out in the world.. what kind of salary they would earn?... enough to buy bologna and bread? ... I would surmise a good major like a Trade school and a minor.. like mortuary science.. perhaps ? Or switch them around.. my parents said I need to look downthe road and see what demand was out for ?..... I had started out under my Great Aunt together my Chef Papers.. i did 2 years.. The Chef board of some org
Gave me a hard time because they thought the tutelage under my Gr.Aunt was to favorable., that she’d give me goo many breaks.. if they had snuck in and signed on they’d of found that wasn’t the case .. she was harder on me than the 3 others.. but they learned a lot under her.. One guy I had a soft heart for he was having probs concentrating..<~(I thought ) maybe he was stringing her. So I set out to help him.. Aunty did not feel a need to ‘Secure’ her lesson and test plan.. she at times would change up.. (She was gone at times to the big grocer’s market to find product for her Restaurant .. we protégés would prepare the different items .. Aunty didn’t believe in scamming people for what they dined on.. if she bought “Choice” Rib.. that’s what she sold it as .
It was every bit as good as Prime(IMHO). It’s in how you prepare it ! ). I got into her
Lesson notes and pics on preparing the items.. I seen she had plenty of paper masters and fluid(she’d a old fashioned mimeograph machine.. in another room.. I got in there and copied off notes and had that out-wall vent fan going full force.. to get the ink smell gone.. The good part was a breeze that blew it away to the back field .. only thing back there was a storage shed.. with some gardening tools.. So told them guys to keep them notes hid.. Aunty not going to tell them e’thing at once.. So just play along and follow and you’ll be ok !.. you be to upon your smarts she might get suspicious, eh?
I had gone to a place that had old books..
and found a couple old editions of the
Professional Chef books.. Aunty had hers from her school. Mostly in French.. I was surprised to find she had transcribed notes from French to English except for the French terms “Soitaire”. In English of course that be sauté and some others
Oh yeah.. Garde Manger ; that be salads, Veg’s.. There was a Pro Chef edition for
Charcutierre. :making sausages, pates, pickled bodyparts(beef tongue, hearts. Etc.,.. that was Aunty’s.. She had a Chef friend she knew from school in France.. This guy was stuck on titles.. So I had to make sure I used Chef before her name.. familiarity with using first names was permissable.. just put Chef before it and you might get away with it in private or when super busy getting production done. In the Military that’d be a big no can do ! ... (in a sitrep I was in when working for a county in Mi.,.... The inmate workers were calling me Chef[I actually enjoyed it].. it got going when the inmate Super.. A sheriff’s Corporal Called me Chef and some inmates overheard and it took off... The Dietician thought she was being underminded . .. the blu-coats didn’t care.. Before she came we had gotten some nice jackets and trousers.. and the skull caps.. (under the overhead vent hoods they worked best .. I had found a clmmercial supplier that could get
Medium Chef Hats that would be okay as long as s’body wasn’t 6’5”.. Them guys liked them skull caps.. they were a light khaki.. too me it looked like a slightly dirty white. The procurement guy for the county got the Chef hats a whole lot of them. And of ourse they had the food Svc worker hats. The cloth skull caps were adjustable . I showed the other cooks to make the cloth hats a little bigger
then wear the paper ones under.. that way thevpersperation didn’t stain the hat
Because that came through the hat. Them ol guys were ‘Saturday night’
Bath guys.. .. we had a couple showers..
they didn’t like, not enough privacy.. oh geez ! It’s not gonna take their virginity..!
Prob’ly afraid to show their little ‘yoo-hoo’
I had a pair of AF swim trunks .. I wear to work under uniform , get done after work, unclothe and shower, dry as god as I can then go into a stall .. why couldn’t they do that? Dietician came along and gave me 4 food service worker shirts.. never asked for chef jackets back.. and I had to wear that skull cap and I had to tell the inmates they could NOT call me Chef.. “Frikken total liberal p.c. Idiotology” ..
I and the inmates had a meeting when she was onher days off and when her fave “spy” blu-coat was gone to the old corrections building.. he told her e’thing he heard.. we had a little mini mtg and made sure a couple certain inmates were gone.. on purpose.. (another inmate slipped some vinegar in their milk to sour it and they thought it was spoiled snd went up sick. They were slackers anyway and would not be missed ). So we got a joke going around about a certain female in-mate that got terminated because it was found out she had ‘crabs’.. Kinda bad and that one of the blu coats got it from her too(he liked to get a quick shower and that’s when the quickie with the female inmate was supposed to of happened . S’body put something that made him very irritable, always scratching .. poor guy went through a lot over that.. that certain private area had to be shaved..(for nada)..
So the Dietician got a big investigation going .. it lasted 3 months.. a lot of wasted time and general fund money..
the county board of trustees wanted to know why it didn’t come out of jail funds.
Another wasted investigation.. who. Knew? Nobody!... then some voters got nosy about both.. Why wasn’t that county worker fired? .. then they found it was a salicious mean rumor started by an inmate(who had already been extradited to another state who was doing time for some nasty stuff (part was a attempt to take out a certain states head correction officer when he’d been incarcerated there previously.. it was not known for sure but the truth had to be known .. so Mo. came and got him .. so the inquiry came To a screeching halt.. the inmate wasn’t present to be formally charged.. so it was dropped.. if they’d only known it was a hoax ...
I kinda missed being his mentor because it gave me a good purpose for being there... Sure after he was gone J was able to slow some and not rush to try and keep up.. I kept up but it was close going s’time because of keeping tabs on my “adopted little bro”. I wondered s’time ..
