Gonna offer a couple of thoughts here, SFC Kelly Fuerhoff:
1) There are lots of folks who have eagerly morphed "Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon" into "Six Degrees of Some Nuts" and delight in playing that game with folks they perceive to be political enemies.
2) Hitler really was a complicated figure, and most people don't really understand him or his rise to power. Heck, I'd even go so far as to say most people would rather *not* try to understand him, and find it far more comforting to view him as a force of evil than as a human being.

History is rife with politicians from both sides of the aisle with less than stellar moral character and intrinsically un-American values. It is a good thing for everyone that candidates are more stringently vetted --
