Burgess Owens must have taken the same US history lessons that Candace Owens
took and is in denial about the Southern Strategy. A more accurate statement
by him should have been "why don't we make the states that defended slavery
and implemented Jim Crow and the politicians that still defend the
Confederate flag and their statues pay for all the reparations?

Seriously. Which party defended the institution of slavery and implementation of Jim Crow? Democrats and specifically Southern Democrats. Now which party is defending Confederate statues and protection of KKK and Neo Nazi free speech today? Not Democrats. One would think Burgess and Candace were related but the last name Owens is just a coincidence.
