I do not understand why many installations such as Ft. Bragg, Ft. Leonard Wood, Ft. Lee, multiple Air Forces bases, etc. validate non-US citizens such as Legal Permanent Residents, those here on visitor visas, etc. They are vetted thru ICE to ensure they are legally here, and every now and then they catch those that are illegally here, including some that have been deported as felons, while on the other hand, many more bases do not. It seems like it would be more uniform throughout the DOD. A lot of these bases have large numbers of visitors for AIT graduations and many that are just visiting their loved ones, but many bases do not run them thru the system. It just seems odd that a person born in the US has to prove themselves more because they live in a non-complaint state and are at the mercy of that states ID, but a non-US citizen seems to have an easier time using documents that have a high fraud rate. I don't know, maybe they are using some other type of system to vet them? Any active duty MPs or other security functions have input?
