FORT CAMPBELL, Ky. — Military police at Fort Campbell responded to a report of an active shooter and apprehended a 101st Airborne Division soldier on Thursday.
Fort Campbell spokesman Robert Jenkins said in a news release that no injuries were reported and the installation is secure. Jenkins said gates are open and there are no threats to the post or local communities.
The location was near Campbell Army Airfield.
No other information was immediately available.

Bravo Zulu to the MPs out at Fort Campbell, KY. There is a serious need for the MPs to be able to thwart the threat, by any means possible.

The Fort Campbell Military Police train extensively on active shooter scenarios and the community and dependas always complain but here is a perfect example of putting training into practical application. From start to finish including a high speed chase to his quarters the whole incident lasted 10 minutes.

I was there when this happened. The high speed chase drove right by me on market garden. There were a crap ton of mp’s chasing this dude. It happened so fast that I didn’t even get notified about an active shooter until after he was already taken into custody. Kind of shows a lack of communication. Still... very fast resolution.
