For those of us who maintain a CCDW license and are responsibly armed, this guy would have been stopped early. I want you to look at the police response time. While they responded quickly (w/in 6 minutes), when seconds matter that is still too slow.

I feel everyone's pain.....Every state has concealed and open carry laws. Only in the communistic/socialistic counties around Chicago (Murder City USA) and the states of NJ, MA, CA, Conn, RI, etc. are the law abiding stripped of their 2nd Amendment Rights. The very people (regardless of race) who need it the most are made victims to the lawless.

LTC Thomas Tennant In this particular case, an individual with a Permit, would not have made much if any difference. I do not know the policy at Excel Industries in Hesston, but a business in Kansas can either allow or disallow carrying of a firearm within the business itself. The second part of this particular incident, is that the alleged perpetrator supposedly went home to retrieve the weapons that were used in this incident.

The big question in this case - How did he obtain the weapons that he used since he was a convicted felon? And since from my understanding the issue that allegedly triggered the incident was a domestic protection order (PFA) and it was the second one, why didn't law enforcement check for and confiscate the weapons the first time around?

By the way, in Kansas, we can carry concealed without a license/permit as long as we abide by the law and workplace policies.

These active shooters are getting out of hand... So can someone tell me how taking guns away from law abiding citizens is going to help in situations like this as I don't see how it's going to help.. And I do concur that this is probably going to try and enhance certain people to try and advocate for stronger gun laws even though the law abiding citizens who own guns are going to be the ones punished such as myself..

SPC Andrew Griffin - No doubt....but gun control is a bad thing everywhere it was tried. It is a tool for big government to control the masses. It was first used against the blacks during Jim Crow and now they are going to try to use it against us all. There is a reason why the 2nd Amendment was written and how it was placed in the Bill of Rights.
