SSG Carlos Madden WTH--why are they not held accountable in these situations, instead of being allowed to just resign?

Sigh...look...I've worked in them before my disability, as I've said, I know virtually everything there is to know about them, honest...they're an entirely different alternate clinical universe...my first day in my last residency, not at a VA, I had to do a maggot toe as my first complete surgery, so trust me, I've seen them close up, I can assure all of you...maggots, as you're all possibly aware, when used right, can be used therapeutically, albeit not in such a circumstance if course, for wound debridement, I was well trained in all of that, honest...should it happen the way it's discussed here? Obv not...is it going to in all hosoitals, everywhere, occasionally, despite all possible precautions? Yeah...is that good? Or course not...Will that change the reality of it happening...also of course not...I had more than my share of aggravation in all kinds of hosoitals, I trained in 10, in three states, VA and non-VA...that it happened was obv bad, no argument...hospitals are the single most difficult, wearisome, aggravating, quasi-industrialized factories imaginable to work in...one wears out, gets fatigued, it's not good, however, they're all prone to such burnout, I assure all of you...trust me, most definitely been there, done that (BTDT), honest...I'm not saying it's good, it's clearly not, that's just not gonna stop it from hapoenjng, that's my sole point...I've seen it all...wrong sides having procedures done in them...once, my last residency group lost a patient in OR, thank God I was rounding that day...I've been screamed at, hounded, berated, beaten on in more ways than one, by attendings, residents, faculty, you name it, I've seen it...I've got four physicians in my family, trust me, guys, I've been around it all.since infancy, so, an I surprised by this? No...is it appalling all the same? No doubt...I'm just trying to relate some of the realities, having been in both sides of the fence, more times than I can count at this point, that's all I'm trying g to say, OK?

Capt Daniel Goodman
And that maggot toe was obv done under an attending, if course, he was my residency director at the time...trust me, it was a total trip...I got it right, after waiting six yrs to be allowed to do one such complete case...so trust me, I know maggots up close and personal, I assure all of you, honest....
