France: A European army would help — not threaten — US troops

Sounds like a good and a great deal; to me.

I think a problem with a European army is it creates a conflict of identity and loyalty. Who would these Soldiers be loyal to? To the EU government or to their native country? Also, would these Soldiers be used to impose martial law within European countries to curb riots like say the Yellow Jacket protests?
