I loved cars and driving them. Sadly, the love has faded as the highways and byways have become crowded with motorists who aren't as courteous as we once were. And professional drivers are not as professional as they once were. The Teamsters Union may have been run by thugs but the big rig drivers were the knights of the road. I well remember one incident when I was towing a small boat using a bumper hitch to attach the trailer to my car. I wasn't aware that one of the clamps had come off and the other was close to joining it when I passed a big rig that began honking its horn and flashing lights. The driver pulled over with me and came to the rescue with his tool box to put everything right. Today's truckers rarely know how to secure their own loads which is evident when you witness the debris they leave behind. That being said, I loved it when I discovered that the Willy's Jeep was the vehicle that changed the way we drive in my birth year, 1943
