This is part of the Green New Deal - the move away from coal/oil to wind and solar. That leaves 80% of the country in the dark and cold for a portion of each year. I feel extremely sympathetic for those in the states where the electric grids just stopped working. Wind turbines frozen, solar panels under inches of snow. It will take more than a rise in our taxes to ensure the well being of the our citizens.
I see a lot of enterprising private companies spinning out of this calamity! (Unfortunately, to be strangled by our own government!)
