I wonder if the Mafia itself is helping keep Italy safe. After all, Italy is their "turf" and I imagine that the "protection" they sell would extend to terrorism

PFC (Join to see) - I guess you haven't watched many crime dramas. A "protection racket" is where the bad guys collect money from the good guys and promise that they'll "protect" the good guys from crime (crimes that they commit). For the racket to succeed, the bad guys have to keep other criminals from victimizing the good guys who are paying them. So, in my example, the mafia would be protecting Italy from ISIS. Get it?

Easy wire taps, lots of security and feed them a pasta dinner. They won't want to move for a few hours but will get on their cell phones to discuss plans until dinner wears off. By then security is at their door.
