A new favorite. The kids in my classroom at Great Circle, emotionally troubled teens in a residential treatment facility, loved this song. Many of them had large chunks of the lyrics memorized, especially the first verse.

A lot of kids really relate to music. It's their version of poetry...I use it in teen groups.

I used a lot of song lyrics as poetry in the classroom, we did a poem a day and discussed them to teach the elements of literature to many times functionally illiterate kids. Theme, motifs, working out meanings, etc. My binder had at least a dozen Dylan songs, and then he won the Nobel Prize for Literature. I loved it.
