“I don’t want to draw negative attention, so I’m just going to focus on playing the game,” Williamson told the Tennessean newspaper, on Friday.
Kudos to him

SN Greg Wright I would suggest the NFL just needs to stop with their stupidity. Worry about the shoes, don't worry when a quarterback gets hit in the head several times with the new "safety first" mentality. The NFL is hypocritical to the point that the difference between roger goodell and a bobble head is negligible.

Shirley, please crawl back under your rock. Do us all a favor. Your incessant use of the caps lock, combined with bringing nothing useful to the table is pitiful.

Yep. But they will never answer to who they allegedly represent or to us, the fans. At least not until every single seat in every single stadium is EMPTY and every single Dish/Cable NFL package is suspended (the same week the stadiums are empty).

It is called a Free Market response. It was my opinion on how to EFFECTIVELY get the NFL to change policy. If you don't like it, fine. But please do study up on Free Market responses.

SSgt (Join to see) If you look at places like Cleveland, and (not football) Wrigley Field, and other leagues/cities where the fan base is devoted to their team, you will see that it won't happen. When the Chicago Cubs couldn't win a little league game, they sold out the stadium. More directly to the point, when teams like Cleveland and Oakland sell out regardless of how the team performs it is an indication that those stadiums will be full regardless of how good an idea it would be to send a message to the NFL. A protest such as you suggest would require much previous planning, and it would require getting people of differing viewpoints on the same page. Furthermore, an empty stadium is irrelevant. It is the ticket sales themselves that would need to be boycotted. Season Ticket holders alone makes that impossible. So while your idea has merit, and would certainly send a message, it is sadly not feasible to stage that type of a symbolic gesture with meaningful financial loss to the league. From the TV standpoint, the bars alone that subscribe to the Sunday Ticket would make that an unrealistic objective. Finally, you would have those who don't think that there is a problem who would simply see a general boycott as an opportunity to see a game.
