They (Libertarians) are essentially conservative with a few liberal views (drug legalization) mixed in. While they ostensibly aren't for banning abortion or same-sex marriage, they also aren't for Federal protections of those rights either and would permit states to discriminate as they please. In addition to party positions, those positions are mirrored by the two candidates on the libertarian ticket, both of whom were Republican governors.
For those reasons I cannot vote or support for Gary Johnson, though of course I consider him a huge improvement over Donald Trump and if I was conservative I would definite vote for him before voting for Trump.
As a left-of-center moderate with separation of church and state and protections against discrimination as major issues for me I have no choice in this term with potentially four supreme court openings to vote for anyone other than a Democrat. We've had thirty years of religious conservatives as a majority on the supreme court, and my biggest ambition this year is to turn the court back to a socially progressive majority.

Not everything is the same, he actually has a mixed of both Trump/Clinton views, and I put this out not to convince anyone of these two, but to give you a view of another option other than the two party favorites. It's time to do away with the two-party system. Mainstream media is completely ignoring these two. They rarely get a mention. Again, it's another option. Thanks
