She prefaced the article with the following comment:

"As blue and white lights shimmer on buildings around the world, from the White House to the European Union headquarters, Haggai Matar reminds us that the horrible dread and fear Israelis are experiencing has been the norm for Palestinians for their entire lives, for generations. Killing civilians is a war crime. And a life time of assault by Israel has brought us here. The only path forward: immediate ceasefire, an end to apartheid. Gaza is now on the verge of hunger, mounting trauma, and no medical supplies - call your Congress people and demand an immediate ceasefire so more people do not have to mourn their dead."
