To be effective this type of interaction needs to be mid to long-term SFC Joe S. Davis Jr., MSM, DSL. The culture of Afghanistan has been formed over centuries and it will take generations to change the mindset one group at a time. There is hope form the young if their parents and guardians will support their efforts to break free from tyranny and corruption.
Another critical influence is Pakistan and the northwest territories of Pakistan in articular. In order for Afghanistan to change, Pakistan will need to assist in border control.

LTC Stephen F. I said that when I was over there in 2013/2014. It will take awhile for the culture to welcome the western change of democracy. The past history tells a story with all the dictatorships/coup takeovers-IMO

What we are seeing are weak government forces, and indifferent people, and a corrupt government.
