They might want to find a way to remove names too, from the record briefs as well as the performance evaluations since at least some names highly suggest the candidate's possible ethnicity--and gender for that matter. BTW, I believe the newly popular claims that everyone is really a closet racist are ludicrous and are actually doing more to divide us than to unite us. However, these measures should at least be able to give people more confidence in the promotion process, and I don't see much of a downside.

I wish that they would have done this 25 years ago. All the GOALS and QUOTAS need to go away and the boards need to be totally blind of demographic information. Demographic information should in no way play into promotions.
