Paul McCartney and John Lennon were both in New York City watching the show on TV.". This was the famous episode where Harrison confronted Lorne Michaels about a promised $3000 if the Beatles would get together to play on SNL. Harrison was rebuffed by Michaels because the other Beatles were not there. Harrison wanted the $3000, and Michaels said that was for all of them, so Harrison was only entitled to $750.
