Thanks TSgt Joe C. for reminding us that on May 17, 1885 Chiricahua Apache chief Geronimo broke out of an Arizona reservation, sparking panic among Arizona settlers.
Thankfully his will was broke because his family had been sent to Florida and after a year and a half of killing and running, "Geronimo and his 38 remaining followers surrendered unconditionally to Miles on September 3, 1886."
