Dropping out of New York City's DeWitt Clinton High School, Adams worked as a theater usher.[4] During World War II, he joined the United States Marine Corps, at the age of 16, by lying about his age. Great show. I'd have been tempted to go with this guy, though - born on this date in 1743, and died on July 4, 1826 on the 50th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence:
