I may be a little bit lazy in my old age but I opted out of getting one of these cards mainly because the application process was, I felt, very user unfriendly, complex and complicated. I started looking at the form(s) to be filled out and felt overwhelmed. Next and more important was my lingering question of just what did I need the ID card for in the first place? I have a drivers license which is accepted everywhere I go, so what is the advantage or unique use of the VAs card. Maybe to show I am a vet when I get my free birthday meal at Dennys?

There are many places that offer a military discount if you ask. The card is just proof. Not everyone wants or needs a discount I guess.
