Lt Col Charlie Brown A great gesture to give away a gift card I don't donate for a reward. I do it because it's the right thing to do and it is also like giving life to someone who otherwise might have died. My school schedule doesn't often give me the chance to get to the mobile donation buses in my area so when I can I have them do the ALEX donation (Double donation). I get credit for two donations, but you can only give every sixteen weeks if you use ALEX. MEDIC blood services (Knoxville, Tennessee) owes me blood until I over 120 years old. (One year for each pint donated or two for an ALEX donation)
Roll up your sleeve's folks! Give the gift of life. You'll never know who you helped but you did help someone.

Lt Col Charlie Brown - I guess it would motivate some but if that is your sole reason for donating... Desperate times call for desperate measures.

I was excluded from giving blood for over 30 years due to my service in Germany.
