The issue is we have to look at this in a cost effective way. No matter where we house these jackasses we have a level of responsibility for them i.e. feed them, guards, etc.... I say we need to nip that in the bud. We should release them to go to their homeland wherever that is. HOWEVER, there is a catch, pretty cheap but still catch. The catch is the bat, nothing more just the bat. If the bat is applied correctly they will be rehabilitated, in some sort of way. Other words they will not be able to move enough to do anything bad. Then we must free them. Take them to international waters point toward home, tell them they are free, say swim home and push them in the water. Now the catch is if the bat is applied correctly they will not be able to swim anywhere and odds are they are bloody so most likely a few sharks. Ta da problem taken care of, we being the kind people we are have released them to go to their homeland and are not monitoring them at all. Damn, we are pretty kind, you might even say we are humanitarians. Wow, I amaze myself

MAJ Montgomery Granger
"No one does [detention operations] better than the United States." This was a direct quote from two separate ICRC physicians I spoke with, one in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, in 2002, and another one in Iraq, 2005. We are exceptionally good at what we do, too much so sometimes, for our enemies view us as weak for being so kind with our captives. That said, in my estimation we are right about where we need to be regarding amenities and care, although a little too robust in my opinion. It's contextual for the most part. The biggest waste was medications for detainees they would either refuse to take or dispose of. Thousands of dollars worth of medication was wasted. We give them free Qurans, prayer rugs/beads, the direction to Mecca, white robes, etc. Their existence should be more Spartan, and I think we should pay less attention to their so-called religious preferences.
