I think it would. The article even mentions the JSOC type models, you have to be experienced to even try out for one of those units Like DEVGRU. A DEVGRU operator has proven himself in the Teams for at least six years, meaning on second enlistment if not third, and average age of those guys is Mid Thirties. This is even true for DEGRU Support teams, they are all chosen from operational Fleet commands and are top of the food chain guys and Gals, requirement is one Sea rotation under their belt, before the interviewing starts. Now look at teams they use to do this before 2006, and now if you look at discipline problems they are having, I think taking from Boot Camp is starting to show that things may need to go back to having most SEAL's be in fleet before they go NSW. Look at what you would get say if a Combat Engineer wants to go 0311, Now you just doubled his Combat Skills and have a Technical skilled guy, that understand how to set up obstacles and breach. Now yes they are close, but you have a guy now that has had Infantry type training already and is adding to his knowledge and would be a grate Train the Trainer guy as he has two different skills to fall back on. Now take an IT guy and change that could be a hard one, however Marines are better at insuring that support and Service Support are some what Tactical in the field unlike the army.
