The twin mustang became a production aircraft and was used for many years after WWII. It became the F-82 and was in service from 1946 to 1953. It also served in the Korean War and was involved in the first air to air kills for the U.S.

I was aware of turboprop use in Korea then, I'd also read of such use in Vietnam, though the f-82 designation I hadn't heard of before, many thanks.
