@SSgt Robert Jorgensen Maybe if they hadn't taken steps to trample a right guaranteed in the constitution, this wouldn't be a problem? How about a law saying that anyone with a legal right to carry a firearm may choose to exercise their constitutional right to carry said firearm. Hey bad guys, good guys have guns now too, feel like playing the lotto with your life?

The 2nd Amendment is for "All" not just the powerful in Government...I'm starting to see a slippery slope here!!! Will I get to carry in DC since I have a conceal carry permit for PA? Probably not!!! All or none!

SPC Greg K. a slippery slope that somebody is pouring oil on. I would prefer all to none, but it is more likely than not that congress will do what they do best: Look after their own interests without thinking about "we the people."

“A free people ought not only be armed and disciplined, but they should have sufficient arms and ammunition to maintain a status of independence from any who might attempt to abuse them, which would include their own government.”

Wrong. Just like a conservative to perpetuate lies and myths.

Here is the actual quote. Completely different meaning:

"A free people ought not only to be armed, but disciplined; to which end a uniform and well-digested plan is requisite; and their safety and interest require that they should promote such manufactories as tend to render them independent of others for essential, particularly military, supplies."
