LTC (Join to see) Absolutely ... Welfare was never meant to be a career, but that is what it has become for many. Liberal politicians are not really interested in changing things because those on welfare and other entitlement programs are a large part of their voter base.

No matter who you are or what you think, I think we can all agree that welfare has NOT been a solution as evidenced by the fact that subsidized poverty has become multi-generational and has NOT decreased by much at all since 1964.

And the fact that many persons living at the poverty level are obese is an interesting phenomenon.

We absolutely need a crisis net, ans well as compassion for those who are truly incapable of working.

But I think literaly, we would be better off totally eradicating welfare (and the inner city slums it created), and just offer free education be it college of vocational school.

Lets try that for the next 50 years and see what happens......

PVT Amos A. I agree, skills training so people can take care of themselves. There is always a need for skilled labor.

It absolutely is. There's generations of families that have never had a job because of welfare.
