June Carter - Cash and the Carter Family. This was June Carters gig before the Grand Ole Opry and long before she met Johnny Cash and married him. The Carter Family Singers, rare to hear them sing today. Johnny Cash would tell June what a beautiful voice she had but she always discounted her singing talent saying it wasn't really a talent like others had. I was stationed at Fort Campbell when this was recorded in Nashville, TN. Johnny and June Carter lived near Nashville in a nice lake spread which has since burned down (Lebonon, TN?) . Both were very friendly and down to earth people I heard if you happened to run into them in Nashville or it's suburbs. As some country western stars still do, John and June Cash ran a sovenior store near their home....can't remember where. Loretta Lynn still does this and also lives within driving distance of Fort Campbell.
