Interesting but not at all surprising… Belt and Road is intentionally designed to trap its supporters and eventually transfer sovereignty to the Chinese. The perfect application of “Soft Power” …. Put that in your pipe and smoke it Tony Blinkin!

The Chinese built the TanZam Railroad between Lusaka and Dar-es-Salaam to transport minerals from mines along this corridor. Both Tanzanian and Zambian mine workers and construction laborers were treated so poorly that many ran away, only to return when funds ran low. The Governments of both countries remained mum about the whole situation, until the African Development Bank intervened and managed loans from the U.S. and European governments to payout all premium Chinese loans. East Africa thereafter began its freedom from pseudo-Chinese rule over its transportation system and today, the TanZam Railways has been operational since 1975. TanZam, also known as the Uhuru Railways and called Tazara, spans 1860 kilometers in length. It runs from the central copper belt in Zambia to the port in Dar-es-Salaam in Tanzania.
