So far the answers are more about the Dems than the question at hand.
I did not support Manning's actions and I do not support WikiLeaks here. As the man said, it is theft.
I wonder how quiet the right would be if those hacks were about a Republican????

And, does no one care that it is probable that the Russians are the ones that did the theft?

I don't believe Russia is involved that is a blame game they have to blame Russia because what if it's some no name in his moms house in let's say Austria what could they say about cyber security then

I like this guy as he is blantantly honest. He always sees the flaw in any situation and isn't afraid of gaining approval. It's not the content but the way they were acquired and why.

Let's be clear here. I am a conservative who does not celebrate the fact that someone is penetrating the networks of our politicians for the purpose of releasing information they have no authority over. I've also been vocal about this since they first started gaining attention. I stand by that position even now as the DNC and Clinton are suffering through their antics. However, I cannot help the fact that these emails have been made public and they need to be dealt with. This is not a case where law enforcement has gathered evidence illegally and it gets thrown out in a court of law. The facts still show Clinton, her staff, and the DNC have acted unethically, immorally, irresponsibly, and yes, criminally.

Do I hope that one day we get the folks enabling Wikileaks into jail? Absolutely! But I also do not feel bad for the DNC and Clinton right now either. We have concrete proof that they are corrupt and that the so called "right wing conspiracy" Clinton spoke of was actually right. I also think it's important to point out that many of the emails released (not all) were the property of the American people and should have been released to the proper authorities in the first place by Clinton herself. Her unauthorized and illegal use of a private server to conduct business as the Secretary of State was the first wrong, prior to Wikileaks ever capturing the data. Focus on that for a change and stop trying to justify her wrongdoing. Additionally, note the fact that no one in the DNC or Clinton staff came out with this information, demonstrating their loyalty to her and their compliance in the revelations released by Wikileaks.

With all the talk about privacy, government oversight/control, corruption, etc, here it is! We're looking straight at it and yet people are still voting for Clinton because "she's not as bad as Trump." I'm sorry but that excuse does not cut it. These revelations were coming out long before she was the candidate. We could have had Jim Webb running today had the DNC and it's followers done the right thing but no, they stuck with her. As much as you might not like the RNC, you cannot for one second tell me they're doing the same thing. We have Trump as our candidate for God's sake. The party I associate with may have been hijacked this time around, but they still stuck to their rules and allowed an undesired candidate to win the primaries. I say undesired because most of the GOP vote was split over the other candidates, not coming together to take Trump out.

So to answer the implied question as to whether I want Assange and his ilk captured, prosecuted, and punished in accordance with the law, yes! Capture him, put him in jail, and protect the information he's captured. On top of that, put some unbiased oversight on it and investigate that which is evidence of criminal activity. Those that celebrate Wikileaks today are likely to be eating their words when he captures more data he has no right or authority to. But don't ask me to not pay attention to what he has released.

I am having a hard time with how too many in this country can ignore the transgressions of any person, simply because it will promote their ideals and their agenda. There are genuine people on both sides of the political spectrum who are sickened by this "at any cost" approach to winning elections and getting ahead (myself included). Unfortunately we will not easily find someone who fits that mold without someone pushing false narratives down our throat. I do not defend many of the quotes and actions of Trump and I disgusted at the fact that there are enough people in the GOP to hand him the candidacy. I will continue to criticize him everyday, especially if he somehow manages to become President. But my disgust does not end with Trump. I am equally, if not more disgusted with the DNC and their choice of Hillary Clinton; someone we've know a lot more about, her politics, her irresponsibility, and her criminal behavior. The GOP absolutely had this election in the bag had they picked almost any of the other candidates. Just like the DNC had a great chance to easily beat Trump with any of their other candidates. I myself might have been tempted enough to vote Democrat for the first time in my life had they pick Jim Webb. I don't agree with most of his politics, but at least I could respect him more than Clinton or Trump. At this point I'm at a loss. I believe it is my duty to vote, but at the same time, I cannot vote for either one of these poor excuses of a presidential candidate. What sickens me more is how many times I've seen people tell me, how less bad one of them is.

As for the desire to see the past 30 years of Trump... No thanks. It's none of our business what he has done in his private life, unless some kind of actual evidence can be presented that he broke the law. I had countless arguments when arguing about President Clinton and was told then by his supporters how his sex life is a private affair... Once again, look the other way as long as it promotes one's agenda. The problem is, we were talking about criminal behavior (sexual assault and harassment) at the time with Clinton, and it came from his accusers, not hacked email. When it comes to Trump, I have a hard time believing the sexual allegations which have recently been thrown at him. I'm sorry but the timing is very suspect, 1 month away from the election, which barely gives him time to properly defend against those allegations. This isn't to say I support him. He's still undeniably an egotistical, self-absorbed, ass, who doesn't know how to run a government, and I do not believe him to be a conservative. That said, I cannot agree that the true crime is the theft of information on Clinton. As a cyber expert, I've been telling people like Clinton that they need to do a better job at prioritizing cyber for over 20 years. Only now we're getting serious. While I still want to see the Wikileaks enablers go to jail, the information they released still highlighted much more serious issues about out election system and those in power running the government without the legal unbiased oversight of the US Government. We're already pushing harder to protect our cyber domain (i.e. steps are being taken to fix that issue), but what are we doing about the system which allows people like Clinton to get away with the things she's done and essentially rig the DNC primaries in her favor? Sadly nothing.

SSG Michael Hartsfield - Do you see me praising? No. I'm speaking my mind as a conservative. I do not speak for every conservative and you have no idea what where those people who are doing the "praising" are coming from. I actually listened to Gutfeld tease this opinion piece on The Five and none of the conservative pundits are hailing Wikileaks as a heroic organization. They know all too well the damage they're causing. I don't like it when our national systems and those which influence our elections are compromised. It's my job to protect them. However, people like Clinton ignore the advise I would give and this is what put her in the position she's in. With that we've learned more about her and confirmed what a LOT of people have been saying about her (which is all too often ignored). I worked at SOUTHCOM not too long after the Manning released the information he released, and I will never forget the damage he caused. Neither release of information is celebrated or desired. However, don't expect me to feel bad for Clinton either. All I can say is, "we told you so". Moral of the story, listen to your IT, Information Assurance, and Cyber experts. Seek out good ones who will properly advise you to best protect your systems/information with the goal of maximizing availability. Don't you think that she should have already known that before she had the servers built out of "convenience"?

So, I stand by my assertion that this should be a very good reason why not to vote for Clinton. I could care less who's praising Wikileaks now. It's wrong to do so. Still doesn't hide the fact that Clinton lied to us, and acted VERY irresponsibly. Not the qualities anyone should want from a President wouldn't you agree?

Not at all but liars can and do get checked and irresponsibility can and will be manage by Congress (if they care to do so). Narcissism, entitlement, and attempting to poison the well by claiming an election is rigged aren't qualities I want in a president either

If you didn't notice, Congress was ignored by the Clinton staff when they destroyed subpoenaed data. Can you show me where in my posts I told you to vote for or that I'm voting for Trump?
