They did. Actually there were no restrictions on Germans marrying Africans. However, they weren't encourage to return to Germany. FYI, the German Colonial forces employed a large number of blacks and were never beaten during WWI.

There is a show called “Mysteries f the Abandoned”. The guy went to an area whereGermany had a diamond mine. The Africans were treated like garbage but the Germans there were having a great time. The “host” was wondering around when a guy in a vehicle showed up and told the host and camera crew they were in a restricted area. The town, railroads and workers quarters were now in a desert isolated area, but there are still diamonds there.

Most of Europe had colonies in Africa. France still does.
