I don't know if this has been shared, but it is worth looking at again if it has. An Old Guard sentinel received an accidental bayonet wound yet continued to do his duty. An amazing feet of discipline.

So much respect for what they do. I've always wanted to be a Tomb Guard, however, I'm too short.

I had a platoon sergeant who was an Old Guard veteran as well as Ranger. Our platoon had division funeral detail. He drilled us like I had never been drilled.

Pfft, let me tell you about this one time at 82nd Division Review. We were on a BREAK from rehearsal, I was turned around talking to folks in another row, when all of a sudden I felt something pointy slam into my calf. I turned to look, and found a fixed bayonet rifle laying against my leg, bayonet first... As my eyes followed the direction of travel, I found a 5-Jump Chump CPT (with all due respect) looking at me wide eyed, with NO weapon in-hand...
