Just like I predicted, I saw an article today in a Time Magazine story online that tells the advantages of getting a rebate on your US carbon tax so you supposedly get back the same if not more than what you pay. That is not the truth in my Canadian province of Alberta ;if you make over $40,000, you don't get anything back. Thankfully, in 2019, a conservative government came in and, and its first order of business, discontinued the carbon tax .
Big American oil companies are giving $1,000,000 to US Pro carbon tax organizations to brainwash and prepare the sucker consumer in the USA with the narrative that Carbon taxes are a good thing. Recently in Canada, the Canadian government gave $ 223 million dollars to Caribbean countries to help them convert from coal-fired or other power plants to Green. The Canadian Government has money to give away
($223 Million Canadian or about $180 Million USD) to 3rd World Countries and to give away $10 million to an convicted Canadian Terrorist, Omar Khadr, but no money for its navy to upgrade its ships and no money to replace its old F-18 A/B models and it cut back on Veteran's Centers nor is it contributing its 2% of GDP promised to NATO but it sure has money to give away to 'save the earth' LOL. That $180 milliion could have been money towards a ship down payment or a few NEW not junky old Australian F-18s that are already worn out.
To me, that's corporate welfare and giveaways to corrupt third world Latin America and Caribbean governments. There is no guarantee in the future, especially with a Democratic president or Senate, that your tax money will NOT be used to support corruption in third world countries. It's happened in Canada so it's always a possibility that this do-gooder mentality of giving your tax dollars away could become a possibility. One of you on rallypoint debated me on this but I'm concerned Democrats could emulate what the Canadian Liberal Party under what Prime Minister Trudeau's Environmental Minister proudly announced recently. Those issues are discussed below in other stories hyperlinked to this story. This should help anyone here who may not know about what I am talking about.
We don't need the government or the radical left to force us to raise prices to foster the change in energy. We already have cars better hybrid or fully electric. The taxi driver who gives me a ride to the airport to my weekend trips to drill in the USA (yes, I endanger the earth flying 1k miles a month to Seattle and back) is considering ordering a Mercedes electric car from Germany. It's going to cost him a over a hundred grand in Canadian dollars but he will save so much money on fuel and have a 400 kilometer range. 240 miles is not too bad. It is common to see vehicles that turn off at intersections. We already have vehicle set go from 8 cylinders to 4 cylinders at highway speeds. We already have vehicles with 9-speed automatic transmissions. I just bought a 2018 Chrysler Pacifica that can get 28 miles per gallon on the highway. We already have companies like for in Volkswagen and Ford joining forces to make better technology for the future. We don't need the Deep state environmentalism zealots to force us to change our behavior by taxing the crap out of us. But technology will change on its own with innovation. It's great to see that the Canadians are also uniting to not let government force them to waste money in another boondoggle like what's happening in Canada right now. This will probably make AOC and Bernie Sanders have to take Kaopectate but this goes to show that's not everybody is brainwashed in Canada.
