H.R.861 - 115th Congress (2017-2018): To terminate the Environmental Protection Agency.

Now that a bill has been introduced in Congress, I think it's worthy of discussion. Do we really NEED an Environmental Protection Agency? Or would America be "greater" without it? What does it protect and how has it provided any benefit to the United States?

the regulations and the restrictions have all but strangled the US economy and industries...

SFC George Smith The industries seem to be doing alright. Do you think that the environment has benefited from the EPA? Is our air quality better now than before because of those regulations? Looking at the air quality samples from the early days of the EPA until now, it seems clear that the air is remarkably more clean now than it was then. I think a lot of that is directly related to the restrictions on emissions and pollutants that US industries have had to work under.
The question is, have the benefits to the nation - in terms of health and welfare - been greater than the loss of profit for the industries affected?
