We are not Germany (or many of the other places) where healthcare is a given for everyone. However, a veteran should never go without healthcare.

What is the status of Medicare and Medicaid at this time? How about SS and SSDI? My state does not have Expanded Medicaid because we nearly went broke using a program very similar to Obamacare. We now have a program called TNCare which has many of the benefits of Obamacare, but considers the tax implications. Also, we have free clinics for medical and dental for those with nothing and once a year we have a pro-bono medical/dental care without checking on financial status. One person admitted he used all these facilities rather that take the plans available to him at work, at a cost. The states SHOULD take care of their citizens, they will watch the dollars much closer than the redistribution scheme called the Federal Government. Our program that nearly broke the budget, had people with a variety of conditions that were very expensive to treat to move here.
