I really did not know that Halo was originally announced by Steve Jobs in 1999. He did it to re-affirm Apple's commitment to gaming. It was finally released two years later as the console seller for Microsoft's new Xbox.

Looking through the game's history before its release, it has gone through significant changes before the final version was unveiled. I am glad the game turned out the way it did. Halo 2 is my personal favorite.

Thanks for the history lesson, SSgt Mark Lines! I have "played" this game vicariously by watching my son work his way through each expansion. I've always found watching a good/excellent gamer and his team MUCH more entertaining than most drivell on TV.
