My first flight with my newly purchased 1959 Piper Tri Pacer after three touch and goes, was to Dubuque from Burlington. Enroute the windows were rattling, and when I reached Dubugue I found a 40 MPH crosswind awaiting. Being trained in a low wing Cherokee and first flight in the high wing Tri-Pacer made for an interesting landing. We made it the N8449D and I made many trips after that--cow pastures and airports.

I always hated flying in from the south at Reagan. Thanks for the post, Capt.
