If the Ordnance Command would have adopted the Spencer a lot earlier and in numbers, things would have been very different. But, as for the Henry, and for that matter the Winchester, Custer and the 7th would have been able to attest to the superiority over active duty firearms.

Very true, the Henry was a great weapon, the Spencer was no wimp either.
