It's shocking how many Americans do not plan for their retirement. Relying solely on social security to bail them out. Only to find, too late, it's not enough to survive on month to month. I don't have millions socked away but as soon as I was given the opportunity to participate in a 401K back in the mid 90's I made sure to learn what I could about it. It's really not that hard to learn how they function so one can keep tabs on our future retirement.
