I can believe the article. What I cannot believe is some of the responses here.
I support helping Ukraine for 2 main reasons.
1. It is our moral obligation if we are to continue as Ronald Reagan alluded to be that bright shinning city on the hill.
2. It is far better we spend money now to stop Putin than to spend lives later doing the same.

We do not need to cut all funding.

But we do need to cut back. And keep a closer eye on how that money is being spent.

SFC Jason Werstak IMHO, we should be providing no more than 50% of whatever the EU + UK provides. We are the big dog, and while this isn't our fight, we do have an interest in halting Russia. But Europe has far more skin in the game, and should provide aid thusly. I am OK with us being 1/3, with Europe being 2/3.

And a minimum of 33% of our aid should be humanitarian - food, first aid, clean water, shelter for displaced, etc.

But that is just me.
