I remember when I used to work retail at a grocery store. It did close on Thanksgiving and Christmas; but, I had to be in a midnight each of those days to do the changeover to the next season.

I hate the fact that some places have to be open; but, then of course, like a hypocrite am grateful when I need something at the last minute and something is open.

The stores kept expanding their black friday hours until it rolled over into Thanksgiving day. But they only did itbecause the customers wanted it. If everyone stayed away from the stores on Tday, then the stores would close and the workers wouldnt get screwed. But since the consumers continue to rush to stores on Tday, more will stay open. This is one of those things where if you really dont think its right, then dontgo shop on Tday.

I am right there with you. Thanksgiving should be a day to stay home with family and friends not at work in retail stores selling stuff that could certainly wait until Black Friday. It is a trend that is unsavory at best.
