Well, they have to prove they can do the mission with other resources...not a totally out of line request.

Maybe I don't understand the Air Force as well, but many of these aircraft are currently being utilized aplenty for missions overseas. It makes no sense to get rid of them when no replacement is waiting in the wings.

I understand their issue with the A-10, so many at the top are fighting for fighters or bombers. The grunts on the ground, however, love the A-10. The issue with the tankers is ridiculous,the KC-46, if I read the Air Force Times correctly, still hasn't worked out a the bugs. It all comes down , I think, to freeing up more funds for new and exciting new craft.
