I'm glad they're finally pitting it against the F-16, which the platform this bird was supposed to replace all along. I swear I'll never knew where that whole crap about the F-35 replacing the A-10 initiated, but whomever that was, needs to get knocked down a few grades. Too much tech on this bird to be an effective CAS frame. It's a stealthy insertion frame, but not one that can take the hits the A-10 can.

It is definitely not made like the A-10 but it will be in the CAS role especially the B that is replacing the Harrier. In that role in the last red flag is where it showed it real worth. Now it will never have the load capacity of the A-10 but with more precision munitions and the ability to penetrate defense undetected it will have a higher sortie rate and mission success rate.

LCDR (Join to see) - definitely a different type of CAS, though I think that many of the ground-pounders still appreciate the low and slow mowing down of the opposition :)
