SPC Gary Welch We (all services) poke fun at each other, but in good-natured fun.I don't think they started using the term "crayon-eaters" during my time in the Marines, but they had plenty of other names.Jarhead,Gyrene,ground-pounder,Leathneck,devil-dog,etc.

SSgt Terry P. - Not in my time in the Corps either. I suspect that "crayon eating" was some plagiarism from "The Simpsons". Little Ralph Wiggum is a classmate of Lisa Simpson. Ralph is lovable, remarkably "dumb", and eats his crayons.

All kidding aside and common sense forward -- it just isn't politic to offer insult, even in jest, to people who are going to use, and evaluate your product.

Thank you, my friend SSG(P) (Join to see) for sharing the hyperbole from Heckler & Koch that their "M27 rifles are built to be ‘Marine proof’ "
