I have no expectations of fame or fortune, but I write or work on my stories every week. I can't say everyday, because I spend too much time dedicated to work and volunteering. If I am someday a well known, published novelist, THEN I will be ecstatic and possibly consider my craft full time. I do not see leaving my job at any time in the near future when I have mouths to feed and support. It is one thing to gamble on it when you are the only one effected, but a totally different animal when you have a family to worry about.

Predominantly Sci-fi and Fantasy. I'm currently working on an urban fantasy novel focused on a young university student and her discovery of and adventures in a "world beneath our world". The protagonist is inspired by one of my former work-study students.

Gotta think about the future. What are the pro's and con's. The Grisham story is spot on.

It's interesting to realize that these folks had "day jobs" while working on their craft. Stephen was a janitor, gas attendant & school teacher before publishing Carrie. Sometimes we believe that they just holed up in some cabin in the woods to write, but the reality is that they did whatever they could keep going.
