In the 1950s, the new West German Army adopted the MG-3, essentially "Hitler's Zipper" in 7.62 mm N.A.T.O. which remains in use by armies worldwide. The U.S. M-60 "Hog" light machine gun could also trace part of its ancestry to the Wehrmacht MG-42.

That was mean ass machine gun that inflected heavy Casualties on US and Allied forces during WWII. Thanks for sharing.
